Do you call and get pre-authorization from insurance companies? It is the patient's responsibility to call and obtain a preauthorization if they would like reimbursement from their insurance company. Because a preauthorization is not a guarantee of payment, every patient (except Medicaid patients) must pay the full amount due on the date of service. If requested, we will provide the patient with a detailed invoice they can submit to their insurance company.
-
What are your insurance codes? To see if your insurance will provide coverage, use codes D9222 and D9223 for dental claims and 00170 for medical claims.
-
Do patients need to pay on the date of service if they have insurance?Yes, every patient (except Medicaid patients) must pay the full amount due on the date of service.
-
Do you accept and bill Medicaid for patients? We are a Medicaid preferred provider. That means Medicaid patients do not pay anything on the date of service. The dental or medical office is responsible for checking to ensure that the patient is eligible for Medicaid on the day of service, as their eligibility can vary from month to month. We bill Medicaid and receive those payments directly for our anesthesia services, separate from your own Medicaid dental billing. Medicaid Dental is also known as MCNA, Premier Access, and Fee for Service. Medicaid Heath is also known as Healthy U and SelectCare.
-
Is Care Credit an acceptable form of payment?Care Credit may be used in the following manner. The dental office must agree to bill and process the Care Credit payment for anesthesia and then provide payment for the anesthesia with an office check on the date of service (minus the Care Credit fee of either 5.9% or 9.9%). The patient must agree to a term of payment of 12 months or less.
-
Do you accept Medicare? We are not Medicare providers. If a patient has Medicare, they must pay on the date of service.
-
Do you accept CHIP Insurance?CHIP insurance does not cover dental anesthesia. However, we give patients with CHIP insurance a $100 per hour discount. IV sedation is $250 per hour, and general anesthesia is $300 per hour.
-
What are your prices for IV sedation?IV sedation is $350 per hour, with a one-hour minimum charge. After the first hour, we charge in fifteen-minute increments. Example: A 45-minute is $350, while a 90-minute case is $525.
-
What are your prices for general anesthesia?General anesthesia (intubation) is $400 per hour, with a one-hour minimum charge. After the first hour, we charge in fifteen-minute increments. Example: A 45-minute is $400, while a 90-minute case is $500.
-
What is the criteria for assessing health conditions of patients for sedation?Pregnant, possibly pregnant, or currently ill: Pregnant patients or those who suspect they may be pregnant should not be sedated unless it is a medical necessity. Patients with lower respiratory tract infections should be rescheduled out three to four weeks. Unacceptable health conditions: Recent tonsillectomies, Down’s syndrome, bleeding disorders, cardiac arrythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, family history of MH, or previous history of pathology, major injury, or surgery to the upper airway or circulatory system. If you have a question about whether a patient is appropriate for in-office anesthesia, call our office, and one of our anesthetists will review the patient's health.
-
Do you bring all necessary equipment? We supply all necessary equipment for IV sedations, administer anti-nausea and pain medicines to assure patient comfort.
-
What equipment do you need from us?As mobile anesthesia providers, we utilize your surgical suite, blankets, suction, and oxygen.
-
Do you sedate patients with special needs? We specialize in caring for anxious, autistic, and handicapped individuals. Call us for instructions for adult patients who have high anxiety. Your patient's comfort is our priority.
-
What are your servicing hours? Our local anesthesia providers are available to come to you as early as 5:00 a.m., and are willing to perform evening and Saturday sedations. Because we have multiple providers, we generally can service urgent and emergent cases on demand.
